Do you want to make a difference in the financial industry?
Are you a curious and dedicated Lead Software Engineer or Senior Architect, motivated by solving complex problems, setting technical direction, and guiding teams to success? Do you thrive in front of a whiteboard discussing the best approaches to challenging problems, as well as getting hands on to assist your team in delivering results? If so, you might be a great addition to our team.
Join the journey: transform our digital core
Are you ready to dive into the digital deep end with us? If you are motivated to lead diverse engineering teams and prioritize empathy, teamwork, and mentorship in your leadership style, this is the place for you! Help us transform our core banking systems into a modern, event driven architecture built using distributed microservices in the cloud.
We eagerly anticipate your input, which will help redefine our core architecture at one of the largest financial institutions in Denmark.
Who are we?
Digital Core is a tribe of nearly 200 colleagues, organised into 20 cross functional teams across Denmark, Lithuania and India, all committed to delivering modern and scalable APIs for Danske Bank's external customers and internal stakeholders. As part of the technology organisation led by our CTO, you will play a crucial role in collaborating closely with stakeholders across the Group.
Our goal is to create a core banking system that is user friendly and provides a great developer experience. Our tech stack primarily consists of Java, C#/.NET, TypeScript/React, Kafka, AWS, and Kubernetes. We believe in innovative, event driven architectures, Domain Driven Design, and maintain a high standard for test automation.
We are a distributed agile team working closely in an informal atmosphere that values a flat hierarchy and open discussions. Our people are our greatest asset, and we value diverse opinions, enabling everyone to grow and learn as we transform our technology stack and culture.
How will you contribute to our team?
We are currently scaling our tribe to support our journey to modernise our tech stack at Danske Bank and are looking for a Software Architect to be a cornerstone of this journey.
"At Danske Bank, we not only promote diversity but also actively promote it at all levels of the company. We champion women in tech and everyone else who brings unique perspectives to our digital table. We believe in equal opportunity and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives."

- Contribute to key decisions and strategies across the technology organisation and the Group
- Solve technical problems and be an integral part of a team developing APIs and other critical components

We believe that a great Software Architect is both a mentor and a contributor, leading by example through hands on development of high quality code while inspiring your team to grow.
This is your opportunity to play a significant role in designing and building innovative solutions to support our transformation journey.
And don't worry, we'll try to keep the PowerPoint presentations to a minimum (we know that's what nightmares are made of!).

- Strong experience in Domain Driven Design and skilled at facilitating clarity and direction
- Experience leading technology transformations in collaboration with teams of Software Engineers
- Public Cloud and Cloud Native skills: you possess microservices and container based development skills that would impress even Kubernetes
