OverviewThe RME supervisor will have a significant impact on customer experience. He/She will have the ability to lead and manage external contractors, be on call for emergencies, handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet tough time lines. The RME supervisor will develop plans on how to accomplish engineering departmental goals. The RME supervisor job is shift based in the fulfillment center. The RME supervisor will be responsible for the leadership, development and coaching of the team. Performance management will be carried out by the RME supervisor - Maintenance. This role also leads the technical team in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Fulfillment Center (FC). The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.
Responsibilities- Lead, support and mentor the team, ensuring they are working in a safe, standard and efficient manner.
- Have subject matter expertise for critical MHE and Original Equipment Manufacturer assets, and be able to build knowledge on the introduction of new assets into the network
- Handle basic troubleshooting for base building systems (FA/FF - Electrical distribution -HVAC-BMS- Plumbing)
- Work with the team and the wider network to harness the technical expertise available and build solutions.
- RME supervisor is the shift based job responsible for handling breakdowns, incidents; stakeholder conflicts
- Support Reliability and Sr. Reliability manager with the management of budget, critical spare components, purchase orders, and change orders that are needed to complete capital projects related to critical equipment assets.
- Keep the Asset Performance Management (APM) metrics achieved and raise the bar on all performance and compliance KPIs
- Support the Reliability Engineering Manager as they work with the Site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
- Complete critical equipment audits and site health assessments in accordance with corporate standards and procedures
- Develop maintenance standards, documentation, and practices for critical assets.
- Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to internal customers.
- Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for the shifts by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
- Organize local projects or support MENA level projects as assigned by the manager.
- Demonstrate practical engineering experience including a supervisory role managing people.
- Have experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
- Have experience working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement vendor annual maintenance contracts (AMCs) with appropriate service levels for equipment.
- Manage a team of Maintenance Supervisors & Technicians. Define goals, priorities, staff planning, and staff training to ensure service levels.
- Keep people working in a safe environment, applying the Amazon Safety Policy and working with the Safety team to improve safety on site.
- Ensure that workplace/assets are clean and in 5S
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or automation engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of using a computer maintenance management system in planning, scheduling and auditing overall facilities/maintenance activities experience
- 3+ years of data analysis in the facilities maintenance program, specifically in asset management and spare part optimization experience
- 3+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Knowledge of diverse MHS, industrial mechanical and electrical systems and automation, controls and robotics systems
- Basic experience using project management software, Microsoft Office, asset management software and CAD software (AutoCAD)
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written local language and basic proficiency in English
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 3+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler working within an industrial maintenance complex, manufacturing/distribution industries, or equivalent experience
- Experience in material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance
